Creating the Trinity Artist Series requires a lot of thought, patience, and dedication. And a l
ot of support work. Albinas and Manon are an excellent team pulling all of this together.
The Trinity Artist Series was awarded the Big Easy, Tribute to the Classical Arts Outstanding Contribution Award 2008, and the Mayor's Arts Award 2001, 2004 Best of the Best Heartbeat Award.
Albinas, Director of Music Ministries at Trinity Episcopal Church, started the Trinity Artist Series nearly 20 years ago, lasting approximately one hour.
The series is informal and free of charge, handi-cap accessible with elevator if need be, and police security provided.

Donations for Grace Child Center or Loaves and Fishes Africa are welcome at the door.

An Evening of Spirituals with International Artists Chauncey Packer, tenor And Troy Poplous, baritone with Albinas Prizgintas, pianist.
Chauncey Packer, native New Orleanian, is an exciting talent on the stages of opera houses in Europe and the United States. Mr. Packer is also one of the most in-demand artists for his captivating portrayal of Sportin' Life PORGY AND BESS.
Troy Poplous, A native of New Orleans, has become a recognizable figure in the community, teaching theater arts and speech at McDonough 35 High School, guest directing at Dillard University as well as staying actively involved in the African American community and the arts community as singer, actor and director. He has performed on several continents from Europe, Africa, to Asia. He was also the focus of a very successful reality series on the BET Network – One Night Only.
Recently, Mr. Poplous was designated Teacher of the Year by his peers and also honored by the New Orleans Saints.
Troy R Poplous and the Talented in Theatre Arts students of McDonogh 35 will travel in March to Paris, France to perform the Broadway Musical, "Ain't Misbehavin." This wonderful opportunity has been afforded to this group as a cultural exchange between New Orleans and Paris.

“Melodies of the Mind: A Psychoanalytic and Musical Perspective on Mozart in 1778” with Dr. Julie Jaffee Nagel and Dr. Louis Nagel.
The program is co-sponsored by the New Orleans-Birmingham Psychoanalytic Center. The lecture-recital will include Mozart’s Sonata in A minor performed by University of Michigan professor Louis Nagel, who is a Steinway Artist and graduate of Juilliard.
2010 Bach Around the Clock the XIII Annual starts Friday March 19 at 7pm, continues all day Saturday March 20, ending at Midnight!

The Evensong Choir at Trinity Church has been singing choral Evensong for the past two years. The service is intended to include full congregational participation in the singing of canticles, responses, psalms, hymns, as well as occasional anthems, with organ prelude and postlude.
All who may be interested in joining our merry troupe, please show up at 6:15 at the organ. A wonderful, simple, elegant service.
